This is a staggering amount of words used just to come out swinging in a fight. I’m a Christian, married to a Christian, and we were both raised under the teaching you’ve detailed. I’m 44 and have been contentedly married for 20 years. Here’s what I see now: a huge amount of the non Christian marriages around me are flourishing, long-lasting, egalitarian, and delightful. That’s what I want. After reading through (parts of) your (astoundingly and astonishingly long) article, I am convinced that I want to be a Christian deeply following the Lord, married to a God-loving Christian, with a non-Christian marriage. You make Christian marriage sound so ridiculously stressful. Sorry you’ve had to fight so hard and I hope you are able to find peace.

Hahaha interesting perspective Sarah.

Do you think the Bible teaches egalitarianism, and I’m wrong, or do you just not want to follow the Bible in this area?
