Hey Joe! I feel like I could start a channel just replying to your content but I canβt pump out videos fast enough lol. (I swear my other response is around the corner)
But, I just had to jump in here. And Iβm not here to challenge your ethics or moral argument, thatβs can be for another day. I really just want to highlight that it seems you are changing the topic pretty hard on atheist dude.
At the end of the day, you and him agree that we shouldnβt let people die. He may not have a reason per se, (though he does) that doesnβt mean you shouldnβt engage in gun violence.
Letβs say me and you were hanging out, you know my worldview. And we someone raping a woman and I jumped in to help. Would you question me like βwell why bother helpingβ? I mean it could be a good and fair question to ask later. But we both would agree itβs good I stopped it
So when he is trying to discuss gun violence, discuss it. Donβt move to a philosophy conversation. Otherwise it seems like you just arenβt willing to engage in politics with people who arenβt religious in some capacity. Would love your thoughts though
Hey Michael, maybe I wasnβt precise in the intro. Me and him donβt agree on how to stop gun violence.
I believe in the right to protect ourselves, I deny a tyrannical regime stripping its citizens of defense. Atheist dude does not. But why?different worldviews. With a Biblical worldview, itβs clear that we should defend ourselves, and the human heart is desperately wicked.
But on the atheist worldview, a lot of these things get pushed to the state, so people conjure up ways to stop violence even if it strips away rights.
It would be like you and me seeing a women getting raped, and I went to save her, and then you put a blanket over her so βmen arenβt tempted.β We both hate rape, but we solve it differently. My way affirms the man is evil, your way affirms that the man would do less of it if he βjust wasnβt temptedβ (this is hypothetical obviously).
I wasnβt deflecting, I was getting to the heart of the matter

Checking again I think you were clear! Thatβs what I get for listening while getting ready for work. I missed some details.
